foto friday

Going back to the root goal of my photography - having my photos available to those who want them, I've decided to make Fridays a sharing day. I will provide a different photo each Friday that you can download and print for your personal use. The photo is in pdf form. You will need Adobe Reader to open the file. You can download Reader for free here. I'm new to this downloading stuff and am using dropbox to facilitate the transfer. If you have any problems downloading the photo, please let me know.

burn baby burn

I ate
While full of hate
And ended up
With a stomach ache.

J's dad is playing games again. I need to write a letter and burn it. Now.

Notice the double hearts - the burning letter and the fire. Cool!

i just wanted a shower

Really. I wanted to take a shower. I needed it bad. My hair was coated with chlorine and my feet were black. (I have the habit of walking barefoot just about everywhere - including outside. Hence the black feet.) So, this morning after checking email and catching up on my favorite blogs, I headed for the shower. I always close and lock the front door when I'm showering in the back bathroom, but this morning two of my cats were sleeping in front of the screen door. I didn't have the heart to move them, so I sat down to watch a little bit of Property Virgins while the cats napped. As soon as I sat down, Rosie climbed into my lap and curled up for a snooze. Soon after, the cats at the door moved on, but Rosie was asleep in my lap. An hour later, she stretched and jumped down. I finally got my shower. Only an animal person would understand this!

on and on

It's taking longer than I expected to get back to life outside the hospital and pneumonia-free. My lung capacity isn't what I'm used to and I get tired very quickly. My precious little J has been very patient with me but is getting tired of not having Mommy as usual. I'm sorry posting has been so sporadic, it takes all my energy to keep up with the little girl. It's summer around here - near 100 degree temps, so we've been swimming and swimming and swimming. At the public pool. Swimming in the afternoons, then swim lessons, then on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, swimming in the evening. A lot of swimming. Fun, but tiring. I so wish we had our own pool. I feel so jealous in the evenings when I hear the neighbors in their pool. Not a very gracious attitude when we're so lucky just to have a house to live in!

what life gives us

A few fly bites cannot stop a spirited horse.

Well...my stomach flu/fever/cough turned into pneumonia. Bad. I've been out of the hospital for a few days now. It's good to be home. Regular posting will resume tomorrow or the next day. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
